about
Silver Bells holds a special place in my heart. Back when I was a budding singer in high school, my best friend and I would prank call people at Christmas time and sing this song to them. We would do the whole call and response during it which was thoroughly entertaining. People usually were so happy we called and did that. I loved it.
Then fast forward a number a years. My husband Hamish and I were celebrating Christmas in Vermont which is nothing short of magical. On Christmas night we headed out to a resort called The Equinox to meet some friends for drinks. There was this cute duo playing there...they had a guitar and clarinet. I got up to sing with them and the song was Silver Bells. It is still one of my favorite performances.
I hope you enjoy this upbeat and fun rendition of the song. This is my Christmas gift to you and is especially for my husband, Hamish. I love you and Merry Christmas!
lyrics
City sidewalks, busy sidewalks
Dressed in holiday style
In the air there's a feeling of Christmas
Children laughing, people passing
Meeting smile after smile
And on every street corner you'll hear
Silver bells
Silver bells
It's Christmas time in the city
Ringaling
Hear them ring
Soon it will be Christmas Day
Strings of street lights
Even stop lights
Blink a bright red and green
As the shoppers run home with their treasures
Hear the snow crunch
See the kids munch
This is Santa's big scene
And above all the bustle you'll hear
Silver bells
Silver bells
It's Christmas time in the city
Ringaling
Hear them ring
Soon it will be Christmas Day
Silver bells
Silver bells
It's Christmas time in the city
Ringaling
Hear them ring
Soon it will be Christmas Day
